The contractor membership category is for any private contractor who contracts with school districts for pupil transportation. School bus contractor dues are based on the total number of vehicles (units) in the company. The company must be lawfully operating in New York State and follow the rules and regulations set forth by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV), the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), and the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Membership applications are subject to approval from the NYSBCA's Executive Committee.

Dues are NOT prorated for new members. You pay the full rate no matter what month you join, except for November and December. If you join in November or December, you get those months FREE and must pay the full rate for the following year. NYSBCA membership is for a calendar year - January 1st to December 31st.

• Please note there is a glitch in our online membership system that allows you to pay by credit card when you initiate your membership before your application is approved. If you pay by credit card and your application is not approved, you will receive a refund.
• Once your membership application is approved and payment is received, you will receive a welcome email and access to our member benefits.
• January 1 renewal email notices, along with an invoice, are automatically sent to the contact person assigned as the “Coordinator” in our system annually.
